Top 100 Shows To See (80-71)

80. The Lone Gunmen
Everyone loved the Lone Gunmen in the X-Files, and they are pretty great here too… but not quite as good considering how the plot felt a tad bit tacked on and less significant than the plot of the X-Files. It also didn’t help that its plot ended in the X-Files with their death.
79. Trinity Blood
Genetically modified humans made to survive in space have lived on mars while normal humans have suffered an apocalypse. The GMO humans return and due to their longevity, hate of light, and vampiric eating patterns, are considered to be vampires. A social rift opens between humans and vampires that must be solved.
78. The New Adventures of Jonny Quest
It was hard to find this show due to the crappier 90’s version taking up most of search results. This is the 80’s incarnation of Jonny Quest and is similar to the original, but Jonny’s voice is terrible. Some of the plots are a bit more farfetched, but the animation is better.
77. Star Trek: Voyager
This version of Star Trek is one of the last ones worth watching. The first two seasons aren’t very good with the plots primarily focused on either holodeck malfunctions or having their warpdrive not functioning. After that the show starts to balance out and it becomes worth watching.
76. The Office
An office filled with interesting characters in dramatic and hilarious situations is presented in a mockumentary form. It’s funny and surprisingly has some interesting ethical situations presented well.
75. Battlestar Galactica (2004)
This is on the list primarily due to the legal issues later in the series. It has great depictions of science fiction space warfare and it has interesting philosophical discussions. That being said, the series is full of flaws and the ending is unforgivable and anticlimactic.
74. Deadman Wonderland
Insane private prisons making profit off of the suffering of prisoners? Sounds like typical America, but not quite. Rather than the typical sweatshops, the prisoners are used for gladiatorial events that are very dangerous. The protagonist finds himself framed and sent to the prison where he discovers that he is blood based powers.
73. Caprica
This show is only here due to some of the ideas about artificial intelligence. It had some interesting themes and it had action that kept it entertaining. I can’t say that it really is very original, nor would I watch it again.
72. Requiem From The Darkness
This show is a collection of morbid stories gathered by the protagonist as follows a group of people out to expose and punish evil. This show is worth watching for the animation alone, but the plots are great too.

71. Detentionaire
I started watching this show on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised by a good characters and a sincerely interesting plot. The animation is also interesting and unique, surpassing the other cartoons of its time. Beyond that I like the way it promotes a distrust of authorities and a good protagonist willing to break rules to reveal an overarching conspiracy after he is framed at school.  I guess, as they say, you should never leave a cyborg wizard behind.

Top 100 Shows To See (90-81)

90. Star Trek: The Animated Series
This show starts where the original left off, but it's animated. It also featured the writings of several well known science fiction writers.  The animations seem a little… off… which is probably due to the fact that the voice actors are the actors from the original show and we are all used to their acting which disappears thanks to animation.

89.Archer
Imagine James Bond as an alcoholic and overly decadent psychopath with mother problems. That is Archer. Now put him into a private security firm where his mother is his boss and the entire company is filled people who are all crazy in their own special way. It’s funny, crude, and funny.
88. Robot Chicken
Each episode is filled with parodies on TV-Shows. Most of the clips in the show are designed to ruin your childhood. It is hilarious in its own chaotic way.
87. Soul Eater
Soul Eater is interesting in all aspects, from the diverse characters to the animation. Most of the characters tend to be a bit chaotic, with the biggest exception being Death the Kid, but all the characters work as a great combination. Fool!
86. D. Gray Man
A tale about exorcists. They use crazy awesome skills to craze big, bad monsters made out of the souls of the dead. The adventure takes a young exorcist around the world fighting hordes of evil with his friends. Rather epic really.
85. That's My Bush!
From the makers of South Parks a satire about President Bush. It portrays him as being a lovable idiot. It is short, but filled with laughs. And hey! Making fun of Bush is always fun!
84. Millineum
A former FBI agent with the ability to see through the eyes of serial killers and murderers. A mysterious doomsday group connected to demonic forces? Yep, this show's got everything. This show was canceled at the end of the third season and concluded in the X-Files.
83.  Kolchak: The Night Stalker
I think I would have preferred this as a radio show. It is very interesting to listen to Kolchak's stories, but there is often very little worth seeing. The stories are all supernaturally inclined and intelligently written.
82. Terra Nova
Take Lost and Jurassic Park and mix them. Now add a little time travel and bam! Terra Nova! It isn't as good as Lost or Jurassic Park, but it's interesting enough.
81. Crusade
The sequel to Babylon 5. The show never really comes together and is ended before it gains speed. The ending is  hacked on to the end thanks to a bureaucracy.

Top 100 Shows To See (100-91)

I’ve seen a lot of TV, and  I’m going to start a list of the top 100 best shows out of the many shows I’ve seen. I’m sure there are plenty of other great shows out there, like Rocky & Bullwinkle, but I haven’t gotten around to viewing them yet.  Some shows may be ongoing and those will be explained individually.

100. Stargate Infinity
It’s one of the many terrible children’s action shows and bears very little resemblance to the Stargate franchise. It is noncanon  and there is very little good to say about it, in fact some might call it blasphemous towards the franchise. It is still Stargate though and I believe all hardcore Stargate fans need to go through this hell.
99. The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest
Remember the classic scifi cartoon Johnny Quest? This is the 1990’s sequel.  It is nowhere near as good as the other two incarnations of the show, but a true fan would go ahead and watch it. There are some very interesting scifi episodes, especially in the second season. This show is considered canon to the series and therefore is integral watching to fans.

98. Invader Zim
This show is original and often lightly morbid. It portrays humanity as ignorant and disgusting. Zim is the villinous an incompetent protagonist trying to successfully invade and eventually exterminate humanity. A lone amateur conspiracy theorist stands in his way and constantly stands reprimanded and ridiculed by incompetent proffesionals and a society of idiots. The portrayal of humanity is reason enough to watch the show.
97. Quark
Imagine StarTrek, except from the perspective of a garbage disposal ship instead of an exploration ship. It is mildly entertaining and many scifi fans will laugh at the stereotypical scifi humor. On the other hand, it isn’t really memorable except for the right to say that you’ve seen Quark.
96. X
As far as apocalyptic visions of the future go, this one is jammed pack full of mythic symbolism for the end times from dozens of cultures. It is filled to the brim with symbolism to the point where trying to map out all of the symbolism can be difficult. Some of the symbolism is obvious, but not all of it. It is filled with action, but at the same time it seems to be lacking something. With all the emphasis in the abstract, a connection is lost to the viewer at times.

95. Xenosaga: The Animation
Let’s face it. This show is for the fans of the video game series of the same name. Unfortunately, it also happened to alienate a large number of hardcore fans and manages to keep many of them from liking the show. That being said, it isn’t bad at all. Sure, it has some flaws, but if you know the games, and if you have an open mind, then it’s great.
94. Naruto SD: Rock Lee & Friends
It’s weird. No one disagrees with that. It is over exagerated, but it manages to fully delve into the mental processes of the characters and it is comical. It is suggested that Naruto is watched first, but this show can hold it’s own if you give it a chance.

93. Devil May Cry
This anime is canon to the Devil May Cry franchise, so all hardcore fans must watch it. Even if you haven’t played the games or if you don’t know anything about Devil May Cry, it is still an enjoyable watch and is full of some pretty awesome action scenes. Dante rocks, as always, in this show.

92. Pokemon
There are a ton of fans for this franchise and many people forget that Pokemon was originally a video
game. The coolest thing about this show is that whatever you learn from the show can be applied to the game; the show was a place to learn how to extend your potential strategies. The anime did suffer from some flaws that left it both incredibly redundant, repetitious, and endearing. I haven’t kept up with the series recently and maybe they’ve made some changes, but this is one show that has maintained staying power for many good reasons. Team Rockets blasting off again!
91. Code Monkeys
A sitcom featuring videogame-like animations. The theme song is reason enough to watch this show. If you are into programming video games like I am, this show is hilarious with many jokes most people might not catch. Still, it has plenty of slapstick humor backing up the nerdy stuff.

The Celeste

The Celeste: Smoke on the Water

The wintery and lucid fog rolled out across the horizon as a war fleet heads out across the raging seas, but the Celeste isn’t associated to the unlikely vermin.  She speeds heroically away from the hellish fleet, but is halted at the edge of the bay; a gateway from under the shadow of her oppression. The National Guard venomously asks for the hand of the beautiful Celeste for the war, intending to ravage and use her. The crew selfishly refuses to allow such assimilation; strategic value is mere vanity in their eyes.
Grabbing the radio and declaring, “Why should we hand over that which is rightfully ours to benefit a meaningless war some degenerate bastard in Washington has wrought upon us?” as a single warning is fired rapidly at a nearby Destroyer.
“It’s for the public good! The innocent masses must be kept safe and secure! Nevertheless, such inquisitive about the ethical positions of our democratically elected leaders is treasonous and deplorable!” arrives a snappy response from a morally castrated officer, “Simply, democracy is as it chooses; the place of the citizen is neither in the house of doubt, nor in the place of such accusatory positioning”
Understanding that a military man, who has spent his life mindlessly worshipping chains, will not listen to the reasons of a common lowlife sea captain and to defend sacred justice issues commands; subjugation is not for this day.  She brings the Law of gods and men upon their frothy bows. Clarity of destiny breaks through as the fated crew springs into action, launching magnificent birds into the sky while hailing the National Guard with a barrage of lead needles. Air reinforcements arrive from a nearby military base like demons of subterranean origin as the Celeste swims towards the gaping mouth of the bay; for only there does salvation from enemies lie, a lonesome hope for humanity. Half a dozen ships lie between the two souls as the clock is ticks towards the oncoming oblivion.
Suddenly on the radio, a victorious voice cries out, “The way is cleared, full speed ahead.” In the fog, local watermen formed a final coalition to work for the endless goal of sabotaging the plans of the Government. Four of six ships are slain by glorious explosives laid in the very heart of the destructive ones. A final breath and the Celeste sends a ship to the Abyss. Meanwhile a gunned down air force pilot careens to an untimely demise inside the final blockade ship. Pulling out of the bay and into open water, the hum of the remaining planes fades into the distance as the sun grows low in the sky. One by one the fighters return to the ship as their wounds stack up. The crew checks their many precious passengers, their final prayers for righteousness. Backwards lays a war fleet still giving chase, waiting for the hunt to renew in vigor. The fallen fleet has halted their commanded progression for a mere hour at the very least. A mournful song issues forth from a single small child as she watches the waves dance rhythmically upon a sea of glass. All wits are rattled and confined to their own labyrinths of pain and worry. A blackhearted cry from undesirables deemed false by arbitrary aims for the sake of peoples unrelated. The stability of solid firmaments is passed for the virtue of opportunity. Behind the veil of the deep a danger lies hidden. Slowly, the nuclear threat sinks its fangs into the hull of Celeste, her skin torn by its passionate fires. Crippled and stricken she lays overcome and sunk all along; time and space relent for the procession of angels from her lofty ideals. The mandate of heaven passes as the cycle of eternity is broken. Shattered now is the icy mirror of tradition under the weight of this clairvoyant disease. Peace restored, the people served, hail victors! These are the days the soul of man is conquered and freedom from dreams is the gift for all.
The officer watches salvage crews take back precious metals from the wreckage. No sign could be allowed to be found of the tragedy for the sake of national security. Imagine if the country knew of the military’s actions here, a sinister spark of hope could be lit by the knowledge of these drowned villains. Antisocials, a plague upon the earth, they deserve it all for their dissent. There is no need for warmongers or malcontents in the modern age. The poets will be silenced forever this time. The pendulum of the power structure stopped to ensure peace. Their stories must be washed away. The officer ponders this for there is no rationalization for the things that cannot be justified. Not that it matters, a hamegin of such insignificance is a mere pawn in the game. Nothing could be changed for in this world beyond good and evil; people always kiss that which drags them further into the abyss.
Now a ghost in the face of history, the remains of the Celeste sinks into the blue. She lies without her identity in the depths of Atlantis, surrounded by the beings that call it their home. In her belly remain the bodies of those precious in this world; forever together in paradise.
Understanding the mission objective to be lost, the dutiful fleet headed to the charred remains of their brethren. A light film coated the water from the soot and oil of the ships that once battled here. A new goal is brought to the table, a final retribution for justice; the blindfolds revealed and the scale tilted to the favor of the glorious victors.  Decidedly, vengeance would be wreaked upon the unholy rebels; deprived of their bildungsroman forever.  The scum of the earth, traitors, tax evaders, and cop killers, are all a cancer to society and they are the harbingers of death. Efforts are raised for the surviving fleetsmen to assist in the capturing of the fugitives. The media declares an ongoing search for domestic terrorists as the military police begin knocking down doors one at a time. None are spared. Dissenters are shot. Walls are built; a quarantine of hatred and violence. Across the country, the railroads long predicted to return begin to purr to life.

Hello World: A Bloggerific Introduction

I admit that "bloggerific" is a terrible word that should never be joined to the English language, but alas I have started with a digression from the topic at hand; for that I must apologize.

"What is the Dweller on the Threshold?" you might ask, to which I must reply "It is the dark entity standing guard at the gates of heaven; the sum of decadence and lower nature. The Dweller stands apart from illumination, inspiration, and initiation, for such things requires one to face the Dweller and stand over him."

This blog may be a guide. This blog is about reality and so it contains a vision of reality. The subject matter will be diverse and focused on the conditions of modern man. There will be short stories, games, reviews, and opinions. I sincerely hope you take the time to consider what is presented here.
